Grateful Sunday

This week I am thankful for all of the awesome people that I know!

Because of my mom and Shad's former step-dad and his wife, Shad and I were able to enjoy a 24-hour date this weekend. We had such a wonderful time together. I can't remember the last time Shad and I were able to focus on US! So I'm grateful to my awesome Mom (who also made a fabulous dessert for us tonight - yum!), and to Jake and Gail (family members we've chosen to keep - you guys are great)!

I'm thankful for supportive friends. I have some of the best friends in the world! I know I don't express my appreciation to them frequently enough, but I don't want to list names here because, knowing me, I'd forget someone and then they'd be hurt and wouldn't be my best friend anymore. And goodness knows, I need all of you. So I am grateful for friends who love me despite who I am and who encourage me to be better!

I'm thankful for the fabulous sisters I have worked with in church callings throughout the years. I have two incredible counselors in my Young Women's Presidency. I am so excited to get to work with them and to have some of their goodness rub off on me (hopefully none of my shortcomings will rub off on them). I have also been in two RS presidencies and one Primary presidency and I am still amazed at the sisters I worked with. I could go on and on about their talents, their creativity, their love for the sisters and the children, their righteous examples, their humor, and their enthusiasm. But I won't - because then you'd stop reading my blog!

I'm grateful for my husband. He is an incredible man who sees so much in me that I can't seem to see in myself. He gets called a liar a lot, but he still keeps on encouraging me and praising me. I'm grateful that he has a Superman complex and that he straps on his gunbelt every day to the make the world (or at least Albuquerque) safe. I love him because he will happily help anyone who needs his "expertise" even when he's only had 3 hours of sleep. (And on a side note - I'm grateful for all of the military and law enforcement personnel who put their lives on the line every day for our safety and freedom!)

I'm thankful for the good people on this planet. My kids have amazing teachers (school, Church, dance, piano, etc.). Their friends have awesome parents. I'm so thankful that there are people who actually want to make the world a better place and who do that in their own quiet way. I get so fed up with the losers that dominate the news, that scream at the check-out girl working  at Wal-Mart, that spray-paint graffiti on my mailbox, that don't parent their children, etc. It's refreshing to realize that most people are good and for all of you people out there who are good, I am grateful!

Hey Windy, Thanks so much for your blogs. I enjoy them a great deal. Im glad there are so many church going folks on blogspot. Its amazing! I appreciate all the comments left on my blog, and hope that we can become blog buddies. hehe. Life is hard sometimes, and the ache is overwhelming, but I know with lots of hard work something good HAS to come out of it eventually.
