In our church, you don't get baptized before you are 8 years old. It just so happened that Peter was able to baptized on his 8th birthday.
Here is a picture of us, standing outside the locked door to the church. You see me on my cell phone frantically trying to find someone who can come and unlock the door. What you don't see is the 25 other people waiting, too. (There was another boy in our congregation who was getting baptized too and he had lots of family in attendance as well. I wouldn't be surprised if there were over 60 people there when we finally got started.)

We finally were able to get the attention of someone practicing the piano inside and they let us in.
Here's Peter and Shad, dressed in white (a symbol of being clean when your sins are washed away through baptism). Peter was so excited to get baptized. When it was his turn, Shad turned to walk with Peter to the baptismal font, but Peter had already jumped out of his seat and was at the door to the font!
We were fortunate to have many friends and lots of family in attendance to honor Peter and his choice to be baptized.
If you think it's easy getting this many people all looking at the camera and smiling, think again! (Thanks Leah!)
Front and center is our little family and Shad's mom. In the back, from left to right: Jake and Gail, my mom, my dad and Nancy, my sister Julie and Chris with baby April.

Congrats to Peter!!!! Also to mom and dad. He couldn't have done it without you.
Congrats Peter! How awesome an event that is! I can't wait for Ethan's turn. He's so excited. That's so great that you had so much family there.
