I have to admit I'm feeling humbled and more than a tad overwhelmed. I have a firm testimony that this is a VERY important calling. I remember being a Young Woman and idealizing my leaders. I loved them. They meant the world to me and I wanted to be like them when I grew up. I just can't imagine young women feeling that way about me.
We only have 6 young women in our ward, five of which usually attend activities and church. I have two great counselors, Becky Bergevin and Leslie Fortier (who, on a side note, is the cause of major contention in my home right now. Emily cannot forgive me for taking her primary teacher away from her!) I'm excited to work with these women and to get to know the girls.

please tell me what was memorable to you. ***
*** If your daughter is a Young Woman,
please tell me about activities she's enjoyed. ***
*** Please pray for me
because if you know me at all,
you know I'm freaking out a little right now! ***

Congratulations! I have always LOVED my callings in YW (well, I have loved them all, but you know what I mean). I think that you will be wonderful with the girls.
Congratulations. I bet you'll have a blast. I don't have any advice because I've never been in a YW calling. I can sympathize with you because I've always felt that it's a calling with lots of responsibility. You can take comfort in knowing the Lord is on your side and will help you every step of the way!
I'm not going to say congratulations because I'm selfish and I will miss you in the R.S.-but you will be wonderful-you're great at whatever you do!
fun adventures ahead for you! I think the best advice I can give you is to get to know the girls and love them. You are needed at this time for something only you can offer them. YW are fun because you get to be a girl again, and help them prepare for their future. I loved leaders who could be silly with us, but still be good examples and share strong testimonies of Christ. You're going to be great!!
Congratulations on your new calling, I have been YW president for 2 years, but I still feel like I am too inexperienced to give advice! I have 8 laurels, 6 miamaids, and 12 beehives right now, so we probably run things very differently than you will. Just think how knowledgeable you'll be when your own girls enter YW's!
The only thing you need to do for the Young Women is to teach them that you and Heavenly Father love them unconditionally. Then hopefully the YW learn to love each other that way. You are an amazing woman and have so much to give you will do great. I love you.
