This Sunday I'm grateful for something I don't always think about -
my children's good health.
Earlier this week, as I was taking my morning walk (22 minutes of walking fast around the neighborhood), I passed a house where a woman was wheeling a wheelchair out of her front door. In the wheelchair was a little girl, maybe 8 years old. It was one of those full-body wheelchairs. The girl could not even hold her head up on her own. The woman pushed the wheelchair around the block and made comments to the girl (her daughter or granddaughter?) The girl made little gurgling sounds, chirps, and squeaks. She could not talk.
This experience stuck with me all week. It forced me to think about how blessed I am to have children who were born healthy and whole.
They are able to dance -

Peter and Emily showing off their dance moves while playing Twister: High School Musical edition.
They are able to feed themselves -

Laura eating ice cream. Felicia hopes Laura will spill some!
They are able to laugh and play and have fun -

I am so thankful that my kids are healthy enough to be able to drive me crazy!

hi windy! thanks for the comment on my blog. i am by no means an expert in the curly hair department, but here's how i do audrey's hair. we wash it at night, since she's only 6. it'll be great when she can shower in the morning, her hair looks much better when it dries from soaking wet.
ok, in the morning, we do this:
step 1: spray it with detangler and comb through the tangles with a detangler comb (wide teeth, made for tangles)
step 2: spray it with water in a spray bottle, until it's quite wet, especially the front, where it tends to frizz. Comb through it again with the same comb.
step 3: do the ponytails or clips or whatever she's wearing that day, then add in some curl cream or frizz reducer or mousse. any of these work fine, and i usually only put it on the front part of her hair, where the frizz starts.
still, by then end of the day, it's frizzed out a bit in the front, but i think the key is getting the hair pretty wet and adding the product while it IS still wet. let me know if that works for you guys. your family is so cute! great blog. :)
I agree with you! I too am grateful that they are healthy enough to drive me crazy! Now ask me if I feel the same way in another 10 years :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your kind words.
And the chocolate frosting in the middle of the pastries? GENIUS. I will blame you when I get fatter from them.
